Five days after returning from four months in Italy, I received Mario Batali’s Molto Italiano (2005) as a Christmas gift. This book is very dear to me. Little more needs to be said.

Depending on the ingredients I had on hand, I altered a fair number of Batali’s recipes. These are listed as “adapted” below. Enjoy.
Sadly, I can find no photo for six of the recipes from this book: basic tomato sauce, St. John’s Eve pasta, basic gnocchi, the devil’s chicken, roman-style artichokes, and pesto (by itself). You will have to trust me on these.
