cabbage and bulgur wheat pilav

I broke in Sam & Sam Clark’s Moro East here in Connecticut with this cabbage and bulgur wheat pilav. It seems fitting, somehow, that there were piles of snow outside:


out the kitchen window



and more snow

So here is a new beginning to cooking in Connecticut, I suppose. And I do believe that it has started off rather well. There is nothing fancy about this dish, although the main ingredients — spring onions, pine nuts, allspice, cabbage, bulgur, and flat-leaf parsley — combine to make something very special. And I must say, this pilav makes the perfect supper to curl up with while listening to a winter blizzard howling outside.

I admit that this book is becoming something of a sacred text . . .
